Tawang Monastery

The Tawang Monastery in the state of Arunachal Pradesh is the largest monastery in India and the world’s second largest monastery. Locally known as Galden Namgey Lhatse, the monastery belonging to the Gelug School of Mahayana Buddhism was founded by Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso on the wish of the 5th Dalai Lama, in between 1680-1681. The 3 storey high monastery is enclosed by a 925 ft. long compound featuring 65 residential buildings. The Tawang Monastery offers the most panoramic views of the Tawang River valley, the snow-capped mountains, and the dense coniferous forest area.

Tashiding Monastery is a Buddhist shrine located in the state of Sikkim, India. The Monastery was founded in the year 1641 by Ngadak Sempa Chempo Phunshok Rigzing, and is a major place of worship for the Nyingma sect of the Tibetan Buddhism. There are many legends associated with the monastery, out of which one says that it is the place where Guru Padmasambhava’s arrow landed, which was shot by the Guru to select a place to meditate. Located at an elevation of 1465m, the monastery’s overall precincts are spread across the town of Tashiding across five blocks namely the sinem market place, the outskirts, the main marketplace, the main Tashiding monastery and the Chorten area. The Bhumchu festival is a prominent celebration that takes place at the monastery every year during the months of February & March.

Day 01: Kolkata

Day 01: Arrive Delhi

After arrival at international airport in Delhi, you will be transferred to hotel for check-in and luxurious accommodation. You will see Qutub-Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, Lotus Temple, India Gate and a number of other attractions.

Day 02: Delhi – Raipur
After reaching Raipur – the capital of Chhatisgarh, you will drive to Kawardha – north-west of the state under the slope of Maikal Hills. It provides you the real sense of calamity. You will see Palace Kawardha and cultural sites.

Day 03: Kawardha – Full Day Tour

The day will begin with an excursion to Kondagaon and Narayanpur tribal belt via forested Keshkal Ghat. You will also see Muria Tribal Village. Don’t miss weekly market of Narayanpur, Kondagaon and other places.

Day 06: Kanker – Jagdalpur (145 kms- 04 hr drive approx)
You will drive to Jagdalpur covered by green mountains, deep valleys, dense forest, streams, waterfalls, caves, natural parks, rich natural resources and blissful solitude.
